Salesian International School is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Physics teacher to join our international program beginning in April 2027.
The successful candidate will teach Physics to junior and senior high school students (Years 7–12) in our English-medium program, with a particular focus on senior high school Physics courses. Depending on scheduling needs and the candidate’s qualifications, there may also be opportunities to teach related Science courses.
Our students are generally bilingual or native speakers of English, and classes emphasize conceptual understanding, scientific inquiry, communication, creativity, and critical thinking.
Responsibilities
- Teach Physics courses to junior and senior high school students (Years 7–12)
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons appropriate for a range of abilities
- Develop students’ understanding of Physics through experiments, demonstrations, problem-solving, and scientific inquiry
- Design lessons using project-based and problem-based learning (PBL) approaches where appropriate
- Develop and assess practical investigations and other hands-on learning activities
- Manage the classroom to support an active, respectful, and collaborative learning environment
- Provide individual feedback and academic support to students
- Assess student learning and maintain accurate records of progress
- Collaborate with colleagues within the Science department and across the school
- Support interdisciplinary and international learning opportunities where appropriate
Teachers are encouraged to create hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences that connect Physics concepts to real-world applications and encourage students to think like scientists.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physics, Science Education, Education, or a related field
- Teaching qualification or relevant secondary-school teaching experience preferred
- Experience teaching junior and/or senior high school students preferred
- Strong subject knowledge in Physics
- Ability to teach effectively in an English-medium international program
- Experience with laboratory-based and practical Science teaching preferred
- Interest in project-based learning, inquiry-based learning, and interdisciplinary teaching
