At GCB, we believe education helps young people build a sense of purpose and grow into creators of the future. This is the purpose that guides our educators every day.
To bring that purpose to life, we are welcoming applications from an exceptional Self-Contained Preschool Teacher – Cambridge Early Years to join our learning community.
What you will do
As a Self-Contained Preschool Teacher, you will play a central role in creating and leading rich, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for young learners within a bilingual, internationally minded environment.
As the primary teacher responsible for your class, you will design an integrated learning experience that nurtures children's curiosity, independence, communication, creativity, confidence, and love of learning, while supporting their cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language development.
At GCB, the Early Years classroom is where curiosity becomes a habit. You will nurture children's natural wonder about the world through purposeful play, hands-on exploration, inquiry, storytelling, movement, creative expression, and meaningful opportunities for communication and early literacy and numeracy development.

What we offer
GCB offers a competitive expatriate package under a one-year fixed-term employment contract, governed by Colombian labor law and renewable upon mutual agreement and satisfactory performance.
GCB has a strong and well-established tradition of long-term teacher retention; most of our international faculty renew their contracts year after year, building careers within our community. This continuity is a direct reflection of the professional environment we have cultivated: one where educators feel supported, recognized, and genuinely invested in the school's mission.
The position is full-time, with a 42-hour weekly workload structured around up to 24 instructional hours and 6 hours dedicated to collaborative planning, with the remaining time allocated to preparation, assessment, meetings, and broader professional responsibilities.
The package has been designed to ensure a seamless transition and a genuinely comfortable life in Bogotá: Housing ( rent, furnishings, and utility costs) is covered for the duration of the contract; all visa and consular fees are met by the institution. Daily subsidized transportation to and from school and as well as workday lunch on campus are provided.
Comprehensive medical insurance is in place from the first day of the contract, so that your focus from arrival is entirely on your students and your professional growth.
GCB is equally committed to your long-term development as an educator; the institution actively supports continuing professional development through Cambridge-endorsed, IB-recognized, and other high-quality programs, embedding a culture of learning that extends well beyond the classroom.
The GCB is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace. We welcome applications from qualified candidates regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. We believe that a diverse faculty enriches the educational experience of every learner and strengthens our community.
All appointments are subject to satisfactory completion of pre-employment background screening, including but not restricted to SAGRILAFT, PTEE and criminal record verification, in full compliance with GCB's Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and applicable Colombian legislation. The GCB is unconditionally committed to the safety and wellbeing of every child in its care, and this commitment constitutes a non-negotiable condition of employment for all members. The submission of an application constitutes the candidate's informed acknowledgement of this screening requirement.
The personal information provided through this application will be processed exclusively for recruitment purposes in accordance with Colombia's Personal Data Protection Law (Ley 1581 de 2012) and GCB's institutional data privacy policy. By applying, candidates authorize the Gimnasio Colombo Británico to collect, store, and process their personal data solely within the scope of the current selection process.
