The school offers yearly flights home up to the cost of a ticket to London return, as well as single furnished apartments. There are baggage and utility allowances included in the package. All visa and immigration costs are paid by the school. There is medical aid provided, however, the compulsory medical check, is the applicant's responsibility. The school will organise the appointment in Baku.
The British School in Baku requires a fully qualified teacher to teach the pupils in the expatriate class. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching the core subjects of Literacy, Numeracy and Science using the Cambridge Primary Curriculum framework and the National Curriculum of England and Wales for the foundation subjects. In addition, we are seeking a professional with a strong work ethic, and a desire to teach pupils in an atmosphere of collegiality and teamwork. This person should be able to take initiative and be open to new teaching strategies. They will be required to assist in CPDs on a topic of their choice as part of a learning community.
British School in Baku is an international school and is an accredited member of COBIS. The school is recognised as a Cambridge and Edexcel examination centre. It delivers IGCSE and A-level courses to approximately 200 students in the secondary school.
The primary school which has approximately 200 pupils, works with a combination of the Cambridge Primary Curriculum for English, Maths and Science and the National Curriculum of England and Wales for foundation and specialist subjects. Both schools offer Cambridge Checkpoints in years 6 and 9, respecively. .
