Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional Mathematics Teacher for Upper Primary (Grade 3) to join a dynamic, internationally oriented academic community committed to delivering world-class education through the Cambridge Primary Programme.

Qualifications and Professional Requirements

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, or a closely related field, preferably obtained from a recognised institution. Postgraduate studies in Mathematics Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or Educational Psychology are considered a strong asset.

Regarding Cambridge credentials, the Cambridge International Certificate for Teachers and Trainers (CICTT) or the Cambridge Primary Teaching Award is highly desirable; candidates not yet holding this certification must demonstrate willingness to undertake Cambridge-endorsed professional development upon appointment.

A valid teaching licence or professional registration is equally required.

English proficiency at a minimum C1 level (CEFR) is mandatory, demonstrated by an internationally recognised credential such as: IELTS ≥ 7.0, TOEFL iBT ≥ 95, or Cambridge C1 Advanced / C2 Proficiency.

The role further requires at least three years of documented classroom experience teaching Mathematics at the primary level, preferably within a bilingual or internationally accredited school environment.

Familiarity with the Singapore Mathematics curriculum framework — particularly its Pentagon Model of Mathematical Competence and the Concrete–Pictorial–Abstract (CPA) sequencing — is considered a significant differentiating asset, especially for strengthening conceptual understanding, modelling, and multi-step problem solving at this stage of primary education.

On a personal level, the post-holder is expected to demonstrate a collaborative professional mindset, a reflective teaching practice and commitment to continuous improvement, strong safeguarding awareness and ethical responsibility, cultural responsiveness in a bilingual, multicultural learning environment and an organisational effectiveness to manage instructional planning, assessment, and classroom routines with precision.

What you will do

You will guide learners aged 7 to 8 through the Cambridge Primary Mathematics Curriculum Framework, helping them consolidate foundational numeracy while expanding their capacity for logical reasoning, mathematical communication, and structured problem solving.

Your teaching will focus on helping students:

• build conceptual understanding of number, operations, measurement and geometry
• develop reasoning strategies and mathematical language
• apply mathematics to real-world contexts through inquiry and exploration

Your timetable includes 24 instructional hours per week complemented by 6 hours dedicated to collaborative planning, curriculum development, and professional dialogue, ensuring that teaching quality and professional growth remain central to the role.
