High School Math Teacher

Saint Paul American School, located in the Haidian district of Beijing, is in search of a skilled, highly motivated, and talented teacher to fill a math position for the 2021-2022 school year.

You will be tasked with 5 classes that meet four times per week. Subjects we will be offering will be Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and AP Calculus.   Each class has between 13-18 students. 

Teachers at Saint Paul American School also have daily office hours and host a club four days a week.  Math teachers will need to have a STEM theme to their club.  Work hours are from 7:40AM to 4PM on Mondays, and 7:45AM to 4PM Tuesday to Friday.  We follow a calendar that combines American and Chinese holidays. 

We are searching for a teacher who has a passion for math, presenting problems that are both in numeric and word format, has experience teaching in a high school setting, and an expansive point of view about assignment and assessment types outside of traditional testing.  Saint Paul American School utilizes Common Core Standards for mathematics, and we value the demonstration and assessment of skills over lectures, notes, and traditional multiple-choice tests.  As such, we are seeking an educator that aligns with our notions and direction of education.  Familiarity with the Common Core Atandards or other American-based standards will aid candidates interested in this position.
