This position includes providing direct support and instruction to identified students under the direction of a special education teacher and a BCBA Consultant. Applied Behavior Analyst (ABA) certification Using the scientific method to make environmental modifications to change socially significant behaviors. Has experience working with students with significant behavioral issues with the goal of bringing meaningful and positive change in behavior. Assist BCBA in creating program books Assists Learning Specialist, teachers and paras with consistent implementation of behavioral strategies including positive reinforcement, use of visual aids, de-escalation techniques, etc.... Collect data-- this includes specialized data collection as determined by the BCBA (i.e. ABC data, time sampling, frequency, latency, product data) Graphing data on a consistent basis (e.g., at least weekly)- for students on their caseload Review data with BCBA and Teacher Implements intensive behavior intervention plans and assists staff in consistently following behavior plans Create necessary materials (i.e. make token boards, visual rules, visual schedules, stimuli) challenging behaviors.
