BASIS International & Bilingual Schools Chengdu opened in fall 2022 with Grades Pre-K – 10, and will eventually expand to offer courses through Grade 12, with a capacity of over 1,800 students. This campus is our first to house both an international and bilingual curriculum in one location. The school’s facilities include state-of-the-art classrooms, cafeteria, library, gym, science labs, auditorium, and plenty of outdoor space.
Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan province—home to famous historic sites, cuisine, and culture. Our school is located in a new area of Chengdu, a high-tech area in the southwest of the city. The master-planned location includes plenty of green space and is convenient to the Chengdu airport as well.
As a secondary school math teacher, you will teach high level mathematical concepts to middle and high school students. Concepts may include Algebra and other high level math concepts. BASIS International teachers are given the autonomy and freedom to present the material in their own way, while achieving clearly defined goals for student understanding. We encourage teachers to bring their passion for their subject into the classroom to excite students and engage them with the material.
Primary Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare subject specific lessons in Algebra.
- Provide subject instruction on a higher level than grade standard, in an interactive learning environment and delivering exceptional results for all students.
- Implement BASIS Curriculum by designing effective and creative lessons and assessments to ensure students’ education is at an internationally competitive level.
- Collaborate with other BASIS International teachers to form a community of smart, talented and interesting people who are passionate about education and readily willing to work in a professional, academic environment.
- Tutor students in content-specific knowledge and skills to heighten the trajectory of students’ academic and career success.
- Manage student behavior to foster academic achievement, personal responsibility, intellect and individuality in all students.

Job Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in your teaching subject. Many of our teachers hold multiple advanced degrees in their field. For Elementary and Early Education positions, a degree in this or related field is acceptable and/or encouraged.
- A minimum of two years of teaching experience as the lead teacher of record in a classroom. This is a requirement for you to obtain a working visa.
- An eagerness and willingness to collaborate with and elevate teaching colleagues. Our teachers come from all over the world and bring a wide variety of curricular backgrounds and experiences. We seek to utilize this diversity to grow and learn from each other.

Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan province--home to famous historic sites, cuisine, and culture. About 1,300 years ago, Li Bai, the greatest poet in the Tang dynasty, described Chengdu as a prosperous, peaceful, and beautiful place in one of his famous poems.
