Job Title: QAD Athletics Coordinator (Ref: 1459)
Location: Qatar Academy Doha
School Type: International Baccalaureate (IB)
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Athletics Coordinator to join our collaborative and vibrant teaching team at Qatar Academy Doha.
The Athletics Coordinator is responsible for the planning, organization, and safe delivery of the school's athletics program and co-curricular trips.
The role ensures that all sporting activities and local, national, and international trips align with the school's educational mission, safeguarding expectations, and health and safety requirements, while promoting student participation, wellbeing, and personal development.
The Athletics Coordinator oversees the day-to-day activities and overall planning for the athletics and activities programs at Qatar Academy (QA) and promotes healthy living and the importance of physical activities to all students and faculty.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and deliver a comprehensive athletics and sports program aligned with the school’s educational mission and values.
- Promote broad student participation, enjoyment, physical wellbeing, and personal development through athletics.
- Develop age-appropriate pathways for skill development and competition in line with the QAD Talent Development Mega Model.
- Organize and oversee all school athletics activities, fixtures, tournaments, and inter-school competitions.
- Coordinate training schedules, facility usage, transportation, and supervision for all events.
- Plan and manage local, national, and international sports trips, ensuring high-quality educational and athletic experiences.
- Complete all trip documentation, risk assessments, and logistics in line with school policies.
- Ensure appropriate supervision, safeguarding, and student welfare during all trips and events.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or a related field; Master’s preferred
- Teaching certification
- 7-10 years of experience in a related role
- Thorough knowledge of special education procedures and the relevant programs
- Experience in the development of curriculum and assessment
- Recent and relevant professional development
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent writing skills – ability to draft / edit a variety of written reports and communications and articulate ideas clearly and concisely; proficiency in Arabic a plus

- Teaching Certification / Bachelor’s Degree (must be a face to face qualification - online qualifications are not recognized by Qatar);
