 Start Date: September 2026
 Contract: September 2026 – March 2027 (Renewable from April 2027)


Salesian International School is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Computer Science teacher to join our international program beginning in September 2026.


The successful candidate will primarily teach Computer Science courses to Years 10–12 students in our English-medium program. Depending on scheduling needs, the teacher may also support a small number of English Language Arts (ELA) or ESL classes for Years 7–12 students.


Our students are generally bilingual or native speakers of English, and classes emphasize communication, creativity, and critical thinking.


This initial contract runs from September 2026 to March 2027 to align with the Japanese academic calendar transition and is expected to renew from April 2027.

Responsibilities


Teach Computer Science courses to Years 10–12 students
Teach a small number of ELA or ESL classes for Years 7–12 students if needed
Plan and implement engaging lessons targeting key skills and concepts

  • Design lessons using project-based and problem-based learning (PBL) approaches
  • Manage the classroom to support an active and respectful learning environment
  • Provide individual feedback and academic support to students
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the department and across the school


Computer Science Courses
Courses may include topics such as:

  • Programming fundamentals
  • Python or other introductory programming languages
  • Web development and digital technologies
  • Computational thinking and problem-solving


Teachers are encouraged to design engaging, project-based learning experiences that connect computer science concepts to real-world applications.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Education, or a related field
Teaching qualification or relevant teaching experience preferred
Experience teaching secondary students preferred
Ability to teach in an English-medium international program

  • Interest in project-based learning and interdisciplinary teaching
