The American School of Tampico has created a Sports and Arts Center that inspires passion, pride, and spirit for the 950+ students attending school each year. We believe that by providing a multipurpose functional space staging numerous activities from basketball, and volleyball, to art classes and musical events, we enrich our students’ lives, giving them something to root for and become further united.
This 6,500 sq. m. facility includes a theater with a 1,200 sq. m. stage and a 460-seat capacity, a 1,100 sq. m. gym with a seat and court capacity of 1,520, and 4,200 sq. m. dedicated to music classes.
The Sports and Arts Center is more than a facility, it gives students of all ages an environment that fosters the many benefits that come with having arts and sports in schools. Arts are known to improve motor skills, language development, visual learning, inventiveness, and cultural awareness. Sports have been shown to teach teamwork and problem-solving skills and improve physical health while boosting self-esteem. Both the arts and sports improve academic performance and decision making.
