We are seeking a Swimming Trainer, who will be an integral part of the school's PE program, teaching school-aged groups water safety and proper swimming techniques, They will work in a private setting, utilizing the school's swimming pools.
Responsibilities may include:
- Instruction: Providing clear and effective instructions on swimming techniques, strokes, and breathing to beginners as well as advanced swimmers.
- Safety: Ensuring the safety of all participants by enforcing pool rules, supervising activities, and being prepared to respond to emergencies such as drowning or injury.
- Assessment: Evaluating swimmers' abilities and progress, and providing feedback for improvement.
- Lesson Planning: Designing lesson plans tailored to the skill level and goals of the participants, incorporating both skill development and physical conditioning.
- Demonstration: Demonstrating proper techniques and drills, and correcting form and technique as needed.
- Communication: Communicating effectively with swimmers, parents (if applicable), and colleagues regarding progress, concerns, and scheduling.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintaining swimming equipment such as lane lines, kickboards, and pool toys, and ensuring a clean and safe pool environment.
- Certification and Training: Staying current with certifications in lifeguarding, CPR, and first aid, and participating in continuing education to improve teaching methods and stay updated on industry trends.
Overall, the Swimming Trainer will play a crucial role in helping students of various ages and skill levels develop confidence, and improve their swimming abilities.
BACKGROUND
EGA is an IB PYP accredited school, an MYP Candidate, and a CIS member school that offers an advanced education model in Doha, Qatar in addition to the Qatari Curriculum for the Arabic Language, Islamic, and Social Studies.
