Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Native-Speaking English Language Educator to teach Grades 1–5 under the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP). The ideal candidate will have English as their first language, strong experience supporting students developing proficiency in English, and the ability to adapt effectively to the Indian school working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons aligned with the IB PYP framework
• Support students in developing strong listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills
• Scaffold instruction and differentiate learning to meet varying language and learning levels
• Integrate language development naturally within inquiry-based learning
• Promote critical thinking, communication, and collaboration in the classroom
• Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress
• Maintain academic records and prepare reports in line with school and IB requirements
• Create an inclusive, respectful, and language-rich classroom environment
• Collaborate with PYP coordinators, homeroom teachers, and academic staff
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress
• Adapt teaching practices to align with Indian school policies, schedules, and expectations
  

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Native English speaker (English as first language required)
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
• Recognized teaching qualification (B.Ed., PGCE, or equivalent)
• TEFL/TESOL/CELTA or similar certification preferred
• Prior experience teaching primary grades (1–5)
• IB PYP training or experience preferred (or willingness to undertake training)
• Strong understanding of inquiry-based and concept-driven learning
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to use technology effectively to support learning
