In this role you will design and deliver high-quality physical education learning experiences that develop students’ physical literacy, wellbeing, teamwork, leadership, and lifelong healthy habits, with a clear, progressive pathway for volleyball skills and game understanding.
You will plan purposeful lessons aligned to age-related outcomes, adapt instruction to meet diverse needs, and use assessment to track growth in movement competence, fitness, and personal and social development.
You will build a strong culture of safe practice and safeguarding, model positive sportsmanship, and work collaboratively with homeroom and subject teachers to connect learning across the curriculum.
Beyond lessons, you will contribute to our co-curricular programme by coaching volleyball teams, organising practices and fixtures, and supporting events that strengthen community, student voice, and school spirit.
We are seeking a qualified teacher with a degree in Physical Education, Sport Science, or a related field, plus a recognised teaching qualification, and proven experience teaching PE across a range of ages with the ability to deliver a coherent, developmental programme. Strong volleyball knowledge and coaching experience are essential, including the ability to plan technical and tactical progressions, run inclusive training environments, and prepare teams for competition while prioritising student wellbeing and learning.
Familiarity with Cambridge approaches to teaching, learning, and assessment is desirable, as is the willingness to engage in ongoing professional learning and contribute to a reflective, collaborative department culture.
Native English speakers are strongly preferred. Candidates whose first language is not English must demonstrate proficiency at a minimum C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), evidenced by an internationally recognized credential such as IELTS ≥ 7.0, TOEFL iBT ≥ 95, or Cambridge C1 Advanced / C2 Proficiency.
